"Deep crimson. Intense fragrant mulberry, blackcurrant pastille leafy aromas with meaty/mocha oak notes. Generously concentrated and sweet-fruited wine with beautiful blackcurrant leafy dried herb flavours, persistent chocolaty tannins and mocha, roasted chestnut oak. Plush and velvety in texture, with superb energy, tension, density and mineral length. A perfectly balanced cabernet sauvignon defining the hallmarks of brilliant vineyard sourcing and 19th Century colonial vinestock material selections. Glorious wine. 2025 - 2040."

96 / 100

"This is a dusty Bin 707 in which American oak and fruit jostle for position at this desperate young age. All the ingredients are in place for a long life, with bracing yet super fine tannin structure, enduring fruit persistence and high class oak support. Bright black- and redcurrant fruit of profound varietal integrity call only for time to blossom. Drink 2035-2045."

Tasting Notes

Bin 707 perfectly reflects the Penfolds ‘House Style’ through a cabernet sauvignon lens: intensely-flavoured fruit; completion of fermentation and maturation in new oak; expressing a Penfolds understanding of multi-vineyard, multi-region fruit sourcing. Bin 707 was first vintaged in 1964.

Full-bodied and with proven cellaring potential, Bin 707 retains a secure place among the ranks of Australia’s finest cabernets.
