97 / 100"Deep, bright, concentrated, youthful purple/red colour. The bouquet is fragrant and floral, with lifted pepper and spice aromas and some background meaty charcuterie notes. The wine is very elegant and intense, driving and precise, with lots of detail and tremendous, penetrating flavour. A ripping shiraz."

Tasting Notes
The Gask is sourced from a single plot of Shiraz nestled into the eastern slope of Mt. McKenzie that is painstakingly nurtured by the Knight family. Planted in 1960 this elevated site yields small, intense berries that possess great intensity of flavour without sacrificing balance & poise. These berries give the wine an ink-like hue whilst the nose serves up notes of smoke, graphite, crushed rocks and blackberry liqueur. It’s quite a heroic wine in style yet retains the cooler edge and tighter structure that the great wines made from this region are famed.
