Gary Walsh: 95/100"Very sleek body with quite a steely finish, but the fruit is the winner"
James Suckling: 93/100"Bursts with flavour but also feels pure, all tingly and tight on the long finish. Love this."
The palate is medium bodied, yet intense, with great length and a brisk acidity.

"This is the first vintage of Stevens where the vineyard was managed by Tyrrell’s subsequent to their purchase of it later in 2022. I think this is the maybe the best Stevens of the last decade or so. Juicy lime, floral, sherbet and almost spicy, kind of like a lime margarita, slightly saline too. Very fine acidity, bursts with flavour but also feels pure, all tingly and tight on the long finish. Love this"

"Hard to believe that a wine with so much bright crisp pear, star fruit and fresh herbs character has less than 11% alcohol. Very sleek body with quite a steely finish, but the fruit is the winner!"
- James Suckling

95 / 100

"“A cull of the most propitious plots across the single dry-grown sites. Additional lees time in the modern era has promoted a winning approachability after a few years, rather than several. And yet Vat 1’s capacity to age is prodigious. Barley water, honeysuckle, lemon drop, dried straw and a skein of evergreen freshness that quenches, drives and balances the myriad of accents and textures. This is a long sheath of nervous energy, readying itself for calm into the later stages of development.""
