Tasting Notes
As with Wynns John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon, Michael Shiraz is only produced in exceptional vintages using only the top 1% of available Coonawarra shiraz.Earning a reputation as the benchmark Coonawarra shiraz, Michael is fermented and then matured in new American oak for up to 18 months. It is deep red in colour with strong mulberry, peppery shiraz berry aromas enriched with coffee bean American oak character in the nose. The palate is rich and full-bodied with sweet ripe fruit contained within a firm, superbly balanced tannin structure that will grow in complexity with 10 to 15 years of bottle age.
