96 / 100"Made from MV6 and an old clone from Great Western planted between 1969 and ’74. Crushed and destemmed with eight to 10 days on skins, 45% new oak. Bright crimson. Aromatically, I can't recall a prettier Yeringberg pinot. It's got delicate new season cherries, strawberries, rose petals and a little nutmeg spice. Gentle and sweetly fruited on entry, it's also earthy and structured with fine yet powerful tannins. Finishes long and with a touch of spice. This is destined to age well. 96 points. Tasting Notes
The Pinot has a complexity, poise and depth which drinks effortlessly today and promises a wonderful future. Pure, elegant aromas of raspberry, rose petal and cherry are interlaced with sappy, spicy notes. The palate is similarly bright, savoury and refined, while also offering serious plummy depth, velvety structure, cool spicy volume and a long & evolving finish that slowly unfurls with time in the glass. A serious vintage to enjoy throughout the next decade. – Sandra de Pury
