95 / 100"Spicy floral scents of redcurrants, red rose petals and quince are backed by earthy, meaty notes and subtle suggestions of older oak. Very elegant and shapely, with almost a juicy presence of cherries, redcurrants and briary fruit extending over a fine, drying undercarriage, it culminates in a long, very persistent, dusty and savoury finish wrapped in a vibrant acidity."

"Light, but bright hue; this is an awesome nebbiolo, rearing up on its hind legs and growling at anyone daring to open it before '20; its fragrance is exceptional, which only serves to magnify the shock and awe of the palate; if you see violets, good luck, but it won't change the palate."

"This has very good ripe fruit aromas and flavours, and masses of ripe tannins. It's very drying but has the richness of flavour to balance. There's a slight lift that raises the question of volatility, but it’s not volatile to taste. Rich leather, earth, savoury: very typical of the variety."

Tasting Notes
Cranberry red in colour; earthy and noble with a delightful aroma of sweet tar mingling with a flourish of dewy rose garden. As it opens up, old polished leather notes appear and augment the bright red cherry fruit. Supple and fruitful on the palate; packed with gobs of spiced red berry fruit dusted with a moreish layer of fine savoury tannins enabling a palate with both focus and length. It is fair to say this really nails the nomenclature of nebbiolo - rose petal and tar. This wine reeks of complexity, balance and nobility. Its sheer class and poise are obvious from the very first tasting. It certainly breaks new ground for nebbiolo.
