92 / 100"The wine was raised in 2014 in about a third new oak and offers up a lovely aromatic constellation of red and black cherries, violets, grilled meat, a complex base of dark soil tones, woodsmoke and a touch of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure on the attack and quite soil-driven, with a fine, sappy core, bright acids and a very long, suavely tannic and tangy finish. This is really a superb bottle in the making. (Drink between 2022-2055)"

"From 18 parcels in vineyards situated in Brochon and the northern sector of Gevrey with a few to the east that average approximately 60 years of age; these include Les Corvées, Reniard, Jouise, Sylvie, Champs Perriers, Carré Rougeaud, Combe de Lavaut, Fourneau, Murots, Billard and Creux Brouillard) Like the Symphonie there is a trace of new wood setting off the more deeply pitched and slightly riper aromas of red and dark currant, earth and humus scents. There is also more volume to the sappy and attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that display only mild rusticity on the serious and built-to-age finale. Moderate patience will be required. Recommended. Drink 2022+ *Outstanding Top Value*"

Tasting Notes
Outer quote mark Bright, dark red. Riper on the nose than the Symphonie but with a musky, reduced quality to the aromas of dark plum, raspberry and menthol. The dark fruit flavors suggest a later harvest here but Jean-Luc Burguet nevertheless described the raw material as "just short of full maturity." Flavors of black cherry, dark plum, menthol and minerals are juicy and tight but carry well on the firmly tannic back end. Avoids the slight dry edge shown by the Symphonie.
