Tasting Notes
Pale straw with a green hue. The nose has a sea spray freshness. Grapefruit, pear, & white nectarine notes are complemented by hints of jasmine, lemon sherbet, smoky hazelnut, nougat & brioche. Medium-bodied in weight with fleshy stonefruit flavours driving the palate. Fresh lemon/lime acidity provides line & tension; the saline finish is crisp & persistent. Try this with Lemon thyme roast chicken with bread sauce stuffed onions & French peas or wild mushroom risotto

97 / 100"This Is a seriously impressive barrel-selection wine made from a vintage that produced small but intensely flavoured crops. It comes off the Karridale vineyard and all the fruit is wild fermented before ageing in oak for about 10 months. Has a toasty, savoury aroma showing a slight smokiness that is most attractive. The palate is tight and super Intense with an urgency that carries it through to a sustained long finish. Slight hints of struck match add just a light touch that adds to the overall complexity. "Medium yellow, bright colour; intense grapefruit regional aroma, almost shrill, with discreet nuttiness, the grapefruit note dominating all else. A buttery note joins in later. A powerful, concentrated and persuasive wine with great length and drive."
