96 / 100"Lovely wine, rich and concentrated, deep and fleshy, with marvellously detailed flavour and profound depths as well as balance. Enormous persistence. A wine of beauty and harmony, elegance and refinement. A stand-out wine."

"Forget the price and, indeed, the position this holds in the Bass Phillip hierarchy. It's all drive and dare, power and glory, the combination of satiny texture and minerally, smoky savouriness an exercise in pure seduction."
- James Halliday
Tasting Notes
Deep dark red colour with a slight cloudiness and a crimson red hue. Scented aromas of ripe red cherries and strawberries intermingle with a hint sour cherries followed by some fresh herb infusions and spicy cedar. Light in body but possessing excellent power and length the palate is an amalgam of ripe red cherries, strawberries and just a dash of sour cherries to liven things up. Nuances of dried meats, herbs and spicy cedar follow on. Good fresh acidity on the finish with velvet smooth perfectly integrated tannins. Long savoury aftertaste of red cherries, strawberries, some sour cherries, a touch of meatiness and spicy cedar.
