95 / 100"Burly aromas of fresh cut pine, marzipan, chocolate chip cookies and mint in this 100% Merlot. A sweet, well rounded, succulent surprise. A layer cake of Saint-Emillon complexity with soft tannins, German chocolate cake and red cherries mid palate and some spicy candy on the finish, Zinging with energy and flavours. Young and spunky."

Tasting Notes
This beautiful Château is located on the Northern slopes of the Entre-Deux-Mers appellation and has undergone extensive refurbishments over the past 10 years. A vast knowledge of the Clay and sandy soils, plus in depth detail in the Cellar make this wine one of our clear favourites in blind tasting sessions.
The cellar and vineyard team are led by Nicolas Géré, who was the man behind the Biodynamic transition at the famous Domaine CHAVE in the Rhône valley. He is now slowly taking “Les Vignobles Jade” (the name of the group that runs La Loubière) down the same route.
A few miles from Bordeaux, on the northern slopes of the Entre-Deux-Mers, our family has been cultivating the vines of Château La Loubière since 1837. The wine’s name comes from the occitan dialect for “territory of the wolves”. It’s the family wine we grew up with, generation after generation: a typical Bordeaux red wine, powerful and engaging. Château La Loubière is a harmonious and generous wine. It can be drunk young or after a few years cellaring.
