92 / 100"‘Les Maréchaux’, located in Meursault. I do love Aligoté. Importer: United Cellars Distinctly hazelnutty, pear, tangy plum, orange cake, mint. It’s fleshy, nutty, with something of a waxy richness, but does carry a firm cut of acidity to freshen, and I really like the chalky grip it offers. Finish is good too, offering a dry feel, some lemon peel, but has plenty of carry and crunch. Very nice. Saline and gustatory."

Tasting Notes
Romaric Chavy has wasted no time in staking a claim as one of Burgundy’s next winemaking stars. Continually making improvements to Chavy-Chouet’s hugely impressive range, this Bourgogne Aligoté offers an opulent, lively, and exotic, style of Aligoté. A light interpretation of citrus and yellow-fleshed fruit.
Wines made from the Aligoté grape are exclusively white.
Aligoté accounts for 6% of all vines in Bourgogne and has a long history here as one of the two local white varietals along with Chardonnay. It is a vigorous vine with larger and more plentiful grapes than Chardonnay.
Bourgogne aligoté is a delicious white wine that is young, stylish and is a little different. It is pale gold in color and offers a well-balanced taste, and ranges from a fruity bouquet with notes of apple and lemon to a more floral palette. In the mouth, this vibrant wine tickles the taste buds.
