96 / 100"The 2012 Clos de La Roche is beautifully nuanced and layered from start to finish. Graphite, plum, blackberry jam, chalk and violets are some of the many notes that grace this utterly impeccable wine. Gorgeous, expressive aromatics are woven throughout, heightening the impression of total finesse. The 2012 is shaping up to be a beauty, but it naturally needs time."

"The 2012 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru comes from a 0.32-hectare parcel planted in 1950 and 1951. It demonstrates more grandeur and authority on the nose compared to the unruly Bonnes-Mares, dealing up superior delineation and focus. The palate is rich and sensual on the entry: dark cherries, kirsch, marmalade and even a touch of peach. The acidity is well-judged and it finishes with a flourish of precocious candied fruit. This is just superb, a wine worthy of its status."

Tasting Notes
The Clos-de-la-Roche is aged in oak barrels for 15 months. It delivers intense aromas of red and black fruits (cherry, blackcurrant). On the palate, we discover a beautiful structure and beautiful mature tannins.
A famous historic estate in Volnay, La Pousse d'Or has an exceptional vineyard with many Premiers and Grands Crus. Formerly in the hands of Gérard Potel, it is now the property of Patrick Landanger. The work in the vineyard tends to be closer to organic farming and the vinifications are carried out gently, in the most natural way possible and the aging is intended to be discreet (low proportion of new barrels). The quality of this work makes it possible to produce wines with remarkable aromatic expression and excellent aging potential.
