"The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru is almost understated on the nose, touches of wet limestone and flint permeating the fresh black fruit and a subtle brine note loitering in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fresh acidity. The 70% whole bunch lends a dash of black pepper toward a finish that is full of tension. Good length and plenty of finesse. This will evolve into a very fine 2019."

"Produced from a 0.55ha parcel in the cool section of the vineyard known as the Combe d'Orveau, with a northern exposition. The wine shows dark fruit and a massive, almost too massive, concentration. It is closed at this point, but the impression on the palate is that it is a wine of great substance and that with a bit of time it should open well. Drinking Window 2024 - 2049."

Tasting Notes
"More masculine than the Grands-Echezeaux, the Echezeaux seem to be a little more severe. The wines present an aromatic range characterized by black fruit, supported by a very fine tannic structure. Prowerful balance is beautifully integrated for the entire length of this wine." - Domaine d'Eugenie
