92 / 100"A cuvée that's often the insiders' choice chez Dujac, the 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru has turned out well, mingling aromas of plums and berries with hints of baking spice and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's layered and textural, with sweet tannins, lively acids and a perfumed finish. - William Kelley"

"Once again, the reduction masks everything except a touch of herbal tea character. In contrast to the funky nose the wonderfully fresh and highly energetic medium-bodied flavors possess fine volume and mid-palate density while delivering fine length on the bitter pit fruit-inflected and slightly edgy finale that comes up a bit short. This is presently somewhat awkward though it may well come together if given a few years. - Allen Meadows"

"The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru is a blend of Les Charrières, Les Millandes, Les Ruchots and Clos Sorbé picked on 27 and 28 September. This has a well-defined bouquet, the stems perhaps less noticeable compared to the Morey Village. The palate is medium-bodied with fine depth, quite tensile with finer tannins than the Village, though oddly, I find more personality on the Village at this stage."

Tasting Notes
Aromas of wild berries, currant, black plum, cinnamon and warm spices. In the mouth, it is flexible, and elegant but also vinous. Black fruits, such as blueberries, as well as stone fruits, such as cherries, offer powdery tannins just offset by a light, salivating acidity.
