Tasting Notes
The Elderton vineyard has very old deep alluvial soils over limestone with the majority of the Cabernet Sauvignon vines ranging between the ages of 35 of 50 years. With a Mediterranean climate, the Beaume reaches 13.50 to 14.50.
Matured in French oak puncheons for a period of 18 months. Opaque black dark crimson red colour with deep dark crimson red hue. The nose exhibits aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry and dark chocolate followed by some spicy cedar. The palate is more forthcoming than the nose with generous blackcurrant and dark cherry flavours followed by a touch of liquorice and some spicy cedar. Slightly drysh finish with fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, dark cherries and spicy cedar.
