Tasting Notes
The Erudgere Vineyard is situated 9 kms from Mudgee, a thriving rural town 4hrs West of Sydney Australia, over the Great Dividing Ranges. The country side is undulating with rugged hills and valleys, similar in both appearance, and climate to Tuscany.
Erudgere is a North facing vineyard with an amazing soil structure not found elsewhere in the region, a special micro climate, and is planted North South on an East West sloping hill.
The Vineyard won best Mudgee Vineyard, in 2003, and is one of only three vineyards with A-grade rated blocks of Shiraz and Cabernet. The majority of the fruit is contracted to other Premium Wine producers. In 2005 we retained sufficient quantity of fruit to produce our own wine, using the highest standard of wine making possible. This vintage produced three Premium Reds, which included a Pinot Noir from an adjacent vineyard leased by Erudgere.
