95 / 100"Made from organic/biodynamically grown grapes with 25% of the fruit fermented as whole bunches. A fragrant Pinot Noir with floral, violet, red cherry, Oriental spices and dried herb flavours together with a spicy oak influence. A youthful wine with an accessible structure of sweet tannins that promise to help the wine age gracefully. 15 JAN 2016"

"Pale ruby colored with a hint of purple, the 2014 Block 5 Pinot Noir is a little reticent and broody at this youthful stage, with faint notes of pomegranate, red cherries and raspberry leaves plus a touch of forest floor. Light to medium-bodied, it offers restrained red berry, floral and earth laced flavors with very finely grainy, silky tannins and lovely freshness, finishing with great length. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, December 2015"

"Rich and plush with fleshy cherry and plum flavours that have plenty of charm, offering details of vanilla custard, nutmeg and white pepper. Drink now through 2026. - MaryAnn Worobiec, June 2016"

"Biodynamic farming in Central Otago’s dress circle of vineyards. Check out those BD cows. The cellar door sits astride the vineyards, a fine place to take some time. Bannockburn pub is pretty awesome too. Basic, but awesome. Anyway, this is Felton Road’s flagship, by my reckoning, and certainly comes with some cult following. Worthy too, at times. This is less a wine for the cellar and more a wine for drinking in youth. I knocked a chill in the wine before drinking the balance, and it felt better for it. Curious scents of red/black cherry, capsicum, pepper, clove and faint graphite mineral notes. In the palate, a really smooth, supple ride. Sure, it slips across the palate effortlessly, but deep into the bottle and the sensation of sweetness picks up, as does the syrupy character in the wine. Rich, ripe fruits jostle with brisk acidity and sweet herbal notes. It’s got a lot going on, but drinkability starts to drag, even if its a fine wine."

Tasting Notes
Felton Road is a premium wine producer stablished in 1991, the estate owns 32 ha of vineyards in the Bannockburn sub-region. They prioritise minimal intervention in both the vineyard and the winery, resulting in wines of unparalleled purity and complexity.
"The deeply fragrant nose offers sweet florals, cane fruits and exotic perfume. Signature lavender aromatics are at once bright and restrained in this vintage. Broad ranging red fruits and vibrant sandalwood are presented over a crystalline structure and elegant framework. Mocha undertones lend intriguing hints of noble power with soft and feathery tannins offering persistence and poised balletic precision." - Felton Road
