93 / 100"A one hectare site in Ashton. Quite waxy and yet vibrant and fresh, a kind of cumquat sweet-sour going on with light marzipan notes, vanilla cream, faint cinnamon and clove and general sweet spice elements, a lick of corn and light butter in there too. It’s a meditative wine, a touch of ripeness in the mix of things that sort of pokes out or rolls over the fresh, mandarin-like acidity. It’s one that the flavour hounds will find comely, with a general open weave and pulpy softness as it rolls on. Lots of charm."

Tasting Notes
"The sixth release from our 0.8 ha block in Ashton where the northerly aspect and deep clay soils result in a wine with boldness and texture. It’s not just about the bold flavours though, there is a beautiful stone fruit character and a great acid line from a very cool growing season.
Whole bunches were pressed to tank for settling overnight before racking off heavy solids to barrel. The wine spent 11 months in French and Austrian oak, 28% new, before racking to tank for three months and bottled."
