96 / 100"The 23rd release represents one of the smallest vintages of Gaia. A blend of 75% cabernet sauvignon and 25% cabernet franc, it’s at once ethereally fragrant with violet perfume, intensely varietal in its capsicum and leaf, and deep in its blackcurrant core and impeccable frame of dark chocolate oak. Tannins are fine, yet with a firm confidence that promises decades of potential. In all, a wonderfully al dente juxtaposition between tangy, edgy, just ripe cabernet definition and compelling blackcurrant and mulberry depth"

"75% cabernet sauvignon, 25% cabernet franc. Highly expressive wine, medium-weight but full of character. Juicy blackcurrant and black cherry, dust and herb/floral notes, smoky oak and ripples of fine, spicy, almost peppery tannin. Tangy cabernet but quite beautiful. Monty for the cellar."

Tasting Notes
Grosset Gaia Cabernet is one distinguished Cabernet. By Gaia standards, it’s plump and plush with sweet fruit, rich dark chocolate and tannin presence. Gaia is always a wonderful long-term cellaring option, as is the case with the '08, but this vintage the added bonus of up front fruit enables immediate enjoyment.
