Hudelot-Noëllat is a historic domaine in the village of Vougeot, situated in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy. The estate was established in 1964 by Alain Hudelot-Noëllat, who combined the vineyards of his father and uncle to create one of the most respected wineries in the region.
The domaine's Romanée St Vivant Grand Cru vineyard is one of the jewels of Burgundy, located within the hallowed area of Vosne-Romanée. Romanée St Vivant has a centuries-old reputation for producing some of the most elegant and refined wines in the world.
"A fine mid ruby purple, then the nose says ‘hold on, this is special’. The quintessence of Vosne-Romanée finesse." - 95-98 Points, Jasper Morris MW

"A fine mid ruby purple, then the nose says ‘hold on, this is special’. The quintessence of Vosne-Romanée finesse. An intense raspberry seedless intensity straight away on the attack, broadening slightly behind, medium acidity, submerged tannins and a fine very long finish. Drink from 2035-2045."

Tasting Notes

The style of the Domaine is defined by elegance and purity. The vineyard of Clos de Vougeot of Domaine Hudelot-Noellat is ideally located in the top part of the Clos where the most complex Clos de Vougeot is made.

This wine, after undergoing a reduction and subsequent racking, exhibits a mid-purple hue—maintaining a commendable structure without veering into eccentricity. The palate surprises with opulent dark raspberry fruit, supported by well-balanced tannins, subtle acidity, and an enjoyable length. It presents a promising profile, devoid of peppery notes, indicating evident ripeness. No doubt this beautiful Grand Cru will benefit from 10 to 15 years cellaring to be at its peak.
