90 / 100"Grenache, Mataro, Shiraz. Sealed with a cork. Ostensibly for the sake of ‘tradition’, perhaps over consumer preference or quality. The cool wet year shows through, though that’s no bad thing here. Plenty of white pepper and Chinese five spice, dark berries, mulch and cold coffee and chocolate. Medium bodied, dusty and spicy, has a kind of ‘sticky’ feeling, raspberry and white pepper, freshening acidity, and a mildly astringent finish of modest length. Despite all that, quite nice and interesting to drink. With a plate of sticky beef ribs or similar, would be very good (supposing you’re not a vegetarian)."

Tasting Notes
There's absolutley no reason that Barossa GSM's don't command a bigger share of the Australian wine market, at least not a convincing one that I'm can come up with. It's a great blend and very comfortable (in a new-world context) at home in the Barossa. And in the capable hands of Rockford it's hard to argue with. Dark fruit, barrel spice, medium bodied, easy drinking but with enough guts to stand up to a hearty meal.
