97 / 100""Matured 18 months in Burgundian oak (25-30% new). Take a deep breath, inhale; the scent of mountain wildflowers, violet, crushed raspberry and cherry is entrhalling, addictive even. Intense and tight on the palate, it opens to layers of clean, bright red and black fruits, enhanced by savoury spice, warm background oak and ripe, textural tannins. A savoury, ferrous and mineral finish offers yet another layer on this most complex pinot. Outstanding. - Jeni Port"

"Keppell Smith continues his good work with Beechworth and pinot noir. Can at times head down the dry red line, but HRH Smith seems to find the necessary pinosity and vitality. This is such a delightful mouthful of red wine. Silky but pillowy, supple and flowing, sweet fruited but with strong autumnal, garrigue and undergrowth characters lending interest and personality. It leads with dried leaves, dried herbs, mushroom, black cherry and yet there’s flinty mineral notes, faint eucalyptus and clove in there too. The palate follows on from the bouquet nicely, savoury, wide bore and with softness and finesse to tannin building into a convincing, brambly pucker. It’s a super expression."

Tasting Notes
Heady, lifted, complex aromas of sour cherry, plum, truffle and undergrowth swirl from the glass. This Pinot boasts layers of rich red and black fruits. It’s multi-dimensional, expansive, concentrated with a spectacularly long, powerful finish. It is a wine of exceptional depth, harmony, balance with moderate tannin. An elegant wine of depth, complexity and finesse. Open this wine a few hours ahead of consuming.
