95 / 100"Richly fruited and gorgeously fragrant, the bouquet shows blackcurrant, subtle tobacco, game and cedar characters on the nose, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate offering succulent fruit intensity with fine texture and polished tannins. Splendidly expressed with excellent structure and length, making it fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2034. $70.00."

"A bold and muscular style that wears its heart on its sleeve, it says McLaren Vale Cabernet in a loud voice, all inky plums, black olive, charry wood and sweet spice with a lift of mint and eucalyptus faintly found. Tannins are plush, the wine soft and mellow, it bustles through the palate with its depth but finds an even voice through it all. Heavyweight but athletic. 14.0% Reviewed by Mike Bennie (Wine Business Magazine 2024)"

"The Cavaliere range pays tribute to the family patriarch, Luigi Curtis, who was given the award, the equivalent of a knighthood, for his military service during World War 1. The Curtis family has a long history of winemaking – dating back to 1471 – and the current generations continue the tradition. This wine is yet more compelling evidence of how well Cabernet can do in a warmer region in a good year. Deep purple in colour, we have notes of chocolate, herbs, olives and black fruits. Coffee bean and cassis notes emerge as we travel further as does a seamless, supple texture. This has great length and it maintains its intensity throughout with silky tannins. An impressive wine which will offer pleasure for a decade or more."

This full-bodied wine boasts a velvety texture that caresses the palate, releasing a symphony ripe blackberries, decadent dark chocolates, hints of liquorice, and a subtle embrace of warming spice. Silky, velvety tannins add to its allure, while the wine's impressive depth leaves a lasting impression, with a medium to long finish that echoes with the essence of blackberry, creamy milk chocolate, and an alluring whisper of spice. Matured in oak barrels, ranging from new to 2 year oak. with a mixture of French and American oak.
