95 / 100"Great to see a premium Marg River Cab which already has some maturity to it. Ten months maturation in French oak with the grapes from twenty-year-old vines, the Houghton clone. Dark garnet/maroon in colour. There are aromas swirling about – aniseed, chocolate, smoked meats, spices, soy, truffles, mocha and coffee beans. Excellent balance, which is just as we see throughout the entire range, and still youthful but with good focus. Thanks to fine acidity, silky tannins and very impressive length to finish, this has ten to fifteen years ahead of it."

"This is immensely complex, showing cassis, cigar, toasted spice, smoked game and cedar characters on the nose. The palate is equally impressive with excellent concentration combined with fine texture and chalky tannins, finishing wonderfully long and sturdy. Varietally expressive and classically styled, promising to evolve graciously. At its best: now to 2038."

Tasting Notes
Rated 94 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2020, this is a classic Margaret River Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, matured in French oak for 10 months. Ruby red with garnet flecks, medium to full bodied with a refined bouquet of violets and cherries and subtle hints of cedar and freshly roasted coffee beans, velvety smooth with intense flavours of primary red fruits, cassis and maraschino cherries.
