96 / 100"(2020 vintage) Youthful, bright and vibrant in the glass. Lifted, complex aromas of red fruits, Asian spice, sap, wet stone, earth and charcuterie. Bright and red/blue fruit-driven on the palate, spice, sap, graphite and an underbrushy, earthy edge. There's a real brightness and freshness of flavour, the tannin shapes it all very nicely and the acidity adds snap and crunch. Very classy gear."

Tasting Notes
This single vineyard wine comes from the renowned Little Hampton vineyard in Trentham, which sits at an altitude of 740m. The aromatics are seductive and engaging while cherry sap and blueberry fruit fall immediately onto the palate. With a focussed and mineral core, this wine has drive, vibrancy and poise, and is a fine example of cool climate Pinot Noir.
Hand harvested fruit was carefully sorted and destemmed with 100% whole berries into small open fermenters. Natural fermentation occurred with daily gentle pump overs to extract fine tannins and flavour. After two weeks on skins the wine was pressed then racked into second 3rd and 4th use French Hogs Heads and Puncheons where it rested and grew. No new oak required. The wine was then racked and filtered prior to bottling in February 2021.
