Tasting Notes
The team at Terra Costantino have been cultivating family vines on Etna for more than 40 years. On the lava terraces they take care of the alberello-trained vines and vineyards where they grow only local grapes: Carricante, Nerello Mascalese and other typical and less-known varieties. The winery grew up combining the traditions of the territory with a contemporary vision, always based on sustainability. “We’ve been the first winery on Etna to obtain the Organic certification in 2000. Today, we work with the oenological technical advice of Luca D’Attoma, who is very well known also for his organic production expertise”.
They are in the heart of the Etna DOC area, on the South- East slope of the Volcano, in Viagrande. The team work 10 hectares of vineyard in 2 different Contrada, Blandano and Cannarozzo, between 450 and 550 m a.s.l. Here, the cultivation of vines dates back to thousand years ago.
