92 / 100"Very deep, dark, dense red/purple colour. The savoury bouquet shows smoky oak with a chaffy nuance. The palate is full-bodied and dense, fleshy and quite oaky, with a savoury back-palate and aftertaste. It tastes super-ripe and borderline jammy, with a touch of licorice on the finish. Dense, slightly chewy tannins. Somewhat thick texture: not exactly an elegant wine, but it's very generously proportioned. This will appeal to lovers of very rich, big reds"

Tasting Notes
The fruit for this Barossa Shiraz was harvested at night. After fermentation and pressing, the parcels were matured in French oak. The wine was racked after six months and the blended parcels matured for 24 months in 100% new French oak.
Brooding dark fruit, coffee, dark chocolate, clove, violet and earth aromas precede a palate dominated by blue and black fruits with underlying elegance and freshness. Wild raspberry and fragrant spice provide lift over notes of mocha and pepper held in a framework of well-integrated oak. Lovely mouthfeel with juicy tannins and great length. A true Australian classic showing the Barossa at its finest.
