92 / 100"From Stanley soils in Beechworth, Victoria. Honest to goodness, with goodness writ large. Sappy, slurpy, dark cherry fruited, woody spiced, touches of herbal lift, a bit of saline and brine in there, licks of cardmom, malt and charry spice too. This drinks well, soft and beautiful flow, long and lavish, medium weight with all the touchstones of neat and tidy pinot and a bit of complexing pizzazz. You’d get this for the bucks and be so happy. It pitches pinot at the right place and then some. Lovely. Easy"

"“As always, a strong show of red fruit, delicate and lifted, in cherry, plum and spice with just a splash of new oak (25%) to bring it all together. A blend of fruit off the Palmer and Brunnen vineyards, the cold, late vintage has produced a lighter-framed pinot, lean, subtle and fine-tannined, but there's an energy that is undeniable. It's worth tuning into.” Awarded 94 points by Jeni Port, for Halliday Wine Companion."

Tasting Notes
Our second vintage for this wine. Part of our new-ish high-altitude Beechworth range. An earlier-drinking blend comprised of sites across Beechworth, predominantly from our new high-altitude Palmer vineyard in the heart of Stanley. With selections from Brunnen and Indigo vineyards providing a lovely combination of spice and plush red fruit.
A cool, and wet growing season, with ample time for flavour development. Whole berry ferment with gentle maceration, this wine is concentrated and complex yet shows the bright acidity and delicacy of high-altitude Pinot Noir. Savoury spice and tart red fruit softened by a subtle 15% new oak component.
