93 / 100"Smells good – like a real Cabernet. Cedar wood, black olive, mint, black fruit, earth and some vanilla oak. It’s a broody and muscular Black Label, dense and unashamedly tannic, with an adult savoury flavour profile, though a little sweet oak softens the effect. It perhaps needs to grow into its finish over time, with some black tea tannin reeling it in a little at present, but undoubtedly has the stuffing to sit comfortably with some of the better Black Label vintages. Has plenty of appeal and charisma. I’m your fan, Blackie."

"Medium to full red-purple; the bouquet is extremely attractive, with an array of cassis, blackberry and mint fruit characters, the palate elegant and stylish. Instead of succumbing to the temptation of extracting every bit of character from the wine, it has been allowed to express itself in an unforced fashion."

Tasting Notes
Wynns Black Label Cabernet is one of the truly great value Australian Wines. With terrific ageing ability it regularly drinks well with 30+ years of age.
The deepest of crimsons in colour with mauve purple edges - signalling a wine of profound fruit flavour. The nose is superb, filled with violets, blackcurrants, dark chocolate, spice and a hint of liquorice. The palate displays outstanding concentration of flavour, clearly Cabernet, and yet with a finesse that elevates it well above the Wynns Black Label Cabernet and into an International super class. Superfine flavours of blackcurrant and spice. Perfect balance, fine grained tannins, almost velvet like, with exceptionally long blackcurrant spice and liquorice aftertaste, followed by lingering fine dry tannins.
